Tracking Engagements in Interesting Moments

In other systems I have used in the past (like Pardot), we were able to track engagements and interactions with leads via social links, social shares, etc. For example, we could create custom short links and tracking links in the CRM system, and when we published those links we could see not only which pieces of content a lead was viewing, but also where users where accessing the content from. This engagements also would tie into the lead scoring system.

I'm aware of the Marketo and Salesforce plugins, but those seem to be mostly used for social media listening/monitoring. We already have tools covering those areas. We are mostly looking to have more depth of interactions on lead profiles and also include social interactions in the lead scoring system. Thank you for any help!

Re: Tracking Engagements in Interesting Moments

Well, Engagement Nurturing means something specific in Marketo. I think you mean "behaviors" and "interactions" here.

Marketo Sales Insight or Task tracking or SFDC Campaign sync will allow you to post behaviors to the SFDC record. This goes for social and any other asset or link that can be tracked. so you need to tell Marketo which links to track and then post those to MSI as interesting moments, SFDC Campaigns, scores, and tasks. Most folks use IMs.

Perhaps the explanations in my Guide would help?

Re: Tracking Engagements in Interesting Moments

Thanks Josh,

I'm new to Marketo, and finding it less intuitive to navigate compared to other systems. Just to be clear, you are saying all the tracking links should be built in SFDC, and then the links need to be added into our scoring system? Thanks again for the help, and the link to the guide.
