Re: The Assets Tab on Default Programs

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to get an idea of the ways everyone uses (or doesn't use) the assets tab found on default programs. For those of you that use it, what benefit does it provide or what question does it help answer? For those of you who do not, what changes could be made that would make it worthwhile?

Thanks for your insights!

Like Josh Hill I don't use it and never have. Maybe I would if I had a Program with a ton of Campaigns, but my folder structure and naming conventions have been more helpful in finding something specific than the Assets tab.

I agree with Jenn and Josh... Haven't used it, and don't think I ever will. A lot of our campaigns have complexities in the logic, so that view doesn't translate into something understandable/reviewable.

Same here.  Actually, I don't see how this assets view allows one to visualize the flow of the campaigns like Jamie mentions.

One other point I forgot to mention is that the "unused assets" area at the bottom, often contains assets that are in fact used.  So the reliability of the info presented here is questionable.

Thanks Dory! This is what I was afraid of. Complex logic can't be represented too well with just a list of assets. You need to see a visual flow chart of connections between assets and the logic that leads to them.

Kai, are you doing an overhaul of some of the components of campaigns? I see you're a UX designer... It would be awesome if Marketo did some overhauls

It's really for visualizing all of the campaigns in a program at one location.  So I can use it to understand the flow of my program, especially more complex ones like an event

Thanks for the reply Jamie! Is the drag and drop reorder ability with the campaign cards important to represent the right flow between them? Do you use it to understand the flow mainly at a high level between the campaigns? Does the separation of smart list and flow assets on the campaign cards illustrate things well enough to understand what is happening at that level as well?

I have never used it for any reason. Don't know anyone who does.

Thanks for the reply Josh! Do you ever glance it from time to time, or would you make it disappear if you could? Could you see yourself using if it was made more helpful in determining the flow of a complex program?
