Syncing a new custom object from Salesforce

My salesforce admin team have created a new object linked to an Opportunity.

I wanted to check if this should be visible in Marketo?

I have visited the Salesforce Objects Sync following these instructions https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/marketo/using/product-docs/crm-sync/salesforce-sync/setup...

I have a couple of questions if anyone could assist?

1) If I disable the global sync, I am assuming that the back log will be dealt with, and their will be an option to renable the global sync.

2) to refresh the Schema will this be ok to run during the day, is it heavy on calls?

3) the schema isn't showing in the search bar, will this new schema appear once I have completed Step5?

Just a bit nervous of grinding everything to halt and it not be doing what I'm expecting.

thanking you

1) If I disable the global sync, I am assuming that the back log will be dealt with, and their will be an option to renable the global sync.

  • Yes, you can re-enable the global sync after disabling it.
  • However, disabling global sync halts all sync activity, not just for the object you're concerned with.

  • It’s not necessary to disable global sync to add a new custom object or refresh the schema.

  • Instead, refresh scheme directly, which should be safe without disabling global sync.

2) to refresh the Schema will this be ok to run during the day, is it heavy on calls?

  • Yes, schema refresh is safe to run during the day.

  • It is not resource-intensive and does not consume significant Salesforce API calls.

  • It only pulls metadata (object/field names, types, relationships), not actual records.

3) the schema isn't showing in the search bar, will this new schema appear once I have completed Step5?

  • Yes, if the object was just created in Salesforce, it won’t appear in the list in Marketo until you refresh the schema.

  • After refreshing, it should be visible under Admin > Salesforce Objects Sync.

  • You can then select it for syncing by enabling it in the object list.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any questions.

thank you. I managed it all successfully. it seems I have an older version of the sync so I do have to halt the sync
