We have a few custom records for competitor software (as there could be many), Construction Projects that a contact or lead might be associated with (as there might be many), and a few others records i need to be able to capture. When i collect the SFDC Custom object schema they do not show as being available. Is this not the appropriate area to accomplish this?
Is there another way to sync a custom record in SFDC that is attached to Contact, Lead, or Account?
What do the docs say?
Did you make the object visible to Marketo?
I guess i am asking the wrong questions? I also must not be looking in the right place! I cant seem to locate the instructions on doing this. I have found instructions on Custom objects 2.0 and Marketo Objects as well as SFDC Objects in the product docs, but none of those provides any details about what to verify on the SFDC side. I have tried searching SFDC training on the object permissions, but again does not provide details on what i should be looking for to actually change these.
I feel like i am looking for a needle in a hay stack. Can you point me in the right direction?
Hi Carrie,
sync'ing SFDC custom objects is quite different from creating custom objects in Marketo. Once you have made sure that the custom objects in SFDC can be accessed by the Marketo sync user, you will need to:

Yes, i had found those instructions. Thank you. But i am having an issue with locating what to do or set in SFDC. Have any pointers on the SFDC side?
Hi Carrie,
Creation of custom objects will be done in setup -> Create -> objects. These custom objects will need to have a lookup or master detail field linking them to a contact, a lead or an account.
Then you will have to edit the profile of the Marketo sync user to make sure it can access this custom object. Consider setting a "view all" permission to avoid any issue.
A SFDC admin should be able to help you with this.

Yes, i reached out to our consultants for access and i am all set. Would be nice if instructions were somewhere though so i can verify if setting are accurate in SFDC or not.
