Stripping out internal info in an Email Performance Report

I want to confirm what I think is correct.  I want to run the email performance report for an email that I sent yesterday.  As part of our QA process, I send the email to a series of internal contacts in a QA campaign.  I don't want that data to "pollute" the real number of opens, clicks, etc.

To take out my internal data, I created a new email performance report, then added a constraint within the smartlist tab:  email address not contains @mycompanyname.

By comparison, the numbers have changed.  Is this a correct way to remove the data from my internal tests?

Adding the constraint email address not contains is a perfectly valid approach.
