Smartlist won't "uncache"

I have a smartlist that for some reason has the little cache icon next to it. I've refreshed multiple times but the icon remains. What does this mean? How do I fix if necessary? thanks!

A few options:

• Try creating a new view to force the refresh
• Clone the smart list and use the cloned version
• Try removing a filter, loading the smart list, and then adding the filter back in
