We have an active smart campaign that triggers a resend of an email if someone does not open after a few days. With the campaign active, I updated the wait date/time to postpone the resend by another day. The campaign sent at the originally set time anyway. Any ideas why this would happen?
How long a person waits in a wait step is determined at the moment they are added into the wait step. It doesn't constantly check and update that wait if you make changes to the step. The changes would only apply to people who entered the wait step for the first time after you had already changed it. To do what you wanted, you really would have been best off adding a second wait step of one day.
Thank you, Kristen! That is very helpful to know and understand.
Thank you, John! I will bookmark this for future reference.
