Should a customized view change a smart list?

I have a very simple smart list which queries one lead attribute.  When the default view is selected, I see about 35,000 leads, but when I customize the view they dissapear!  What could be causing that?

That's odd. Did the change skip you to the last page of leads instead of the first?

Did you select a column that has no data?

I had a problem a long time ago with custom views that didn't include the Marketo ID field, you may want to be sure to include that and see if it resolves your problem.

Thanks Elliott - that's a great tip!

We's been struggling with custom views for a while. We wanted to display several columns inlcuding last interesting moment date and description ... although these all show fine in Marketo when we exported to Excel, so we could share this information with our sales team, the interesting moments columns disappeared. Today, we just added Marketo ID into our custom view and the export works fine.

Re: Should a customized view change a smart list?

Marketo's ID is one of the selected columns, but it's good to know that I should always include it.  Thanks!

The change didn't skip me to another page - the data just disappeared!  (Hey Presto!)

The columns I selected are custom, (set up as True/False), and I've been populating them with imported "trues"; some columns are all null.  Do you think I should populate the null spaces with "false" using a flow action?  (Ack!)

Thank you all for the assistance!

Re: Should a customized view change a smart list?

All of my checkbox field columns have either a true or a false value, and it seems strange that you'd have a column with no values - the default should be "false".  I would submit a cast to Marketo tech support, who can bring more diagnotic data to bear on this.

Re: Should a customized view change a smart list?

We have an odd-ball set-up, in that we are not synched with a CRM.  I added custom fields and I'm importing from multiple lead sources.  I'll bet that a flow action changing all nulls to False will do the trick.

Thanks for your help!
