SFDC sandbox refresh

SFDC sandbox refresh

Hi

SFDC sandbox is in sync with Marketo sandbox and data flows bidirectionally. We want to refresh our SFDC sandbox now, will there be any issues with that?

Will there be any loss of data or integration between the two? Please let me know.

Re: SFDC sandbox refresh

When you do a complete refresh, this generally creates a new org ID. This will break the Marketo sync. You need to work with support to have them connect your instance to the new SFDC org ID.

If by refresh, you mean you are just deleting the data and reloading it, then there won't be any issue; the new records will get created in Marketo when you add them into SFDC.

My experience refreshing a developer sandbox synced to Marketo sandbox is it generally works fine. Occassionally you will need to re-enter your synch user credentials if they've changed in sfdc production.

One challenging thing about having a full staging environment like this is that there is no simple way to refresh your Marketo sandbox as well. It requires support to help and there is a cost if you do it regularly.

This means you need to remember to regulary push any operational programs that will affect your testing into Marketo sandbox manually.

Also so if you are testing any integrations that use RequestCampaign, the campaign IDs are unlikely to be the same.

Just a few watch outs.
