We recently synced MKTO and SFDC. One of our reps emailed today and stated when he created a lead in SFDC it automatically created an activity "responded to campaign". Does anyone know why this happens?
Also, in the activity logs for the leads that are syncing from SFDC to MKTO it is showing numerous SFDC activity types. I tried to look in the community for information around this topic but didn't really find anything.
I'm trying to figure out if it's setting issue or something larger.
Side note: we have not installed sales insights yet.
Thank you!
Christine

Hi Chrisitne,
"sync lead updates to SFDC" is the standard and natural sync between Marketo and SFDC. This means that these activities are likely to be created by salesforce.

Hi Christine,
For the first point, it seems to be linked to something specific to your Marketo or SFDC instance. look at the activity log of the lead in Marketo and check were this activity comes from. If it has been created by Marketo, you will be abel to identify the smart campaign in the log.
For the second point: admin-> salesforce -> sync options -> edit. Recommendation: deactivate most of the checkboxes. Keep only Sales email.

Hi Greg,
It looks like the activity is being driven by "sync lead updates to SFDC" but I'm not sure where this campaign lives in Marketo. I did initiate the enable SFDC campaign sync. That is the only box that is clicked in the admin area.
I apologize if this is an elementary topic, our team is super new to have synced systems!
Thank you,
Christine
