Hi there,
We recently deleted a bunch of people in Marketo that were syncing to SFDC Leads and Contacts. We did not delete them in SFDC. Naturally, when the SFDC record was updated, they were re-created in Marketo. We noticed that when they were recreated in Marketo, all of their historical SFDC Activity came into Marketo on the same date/time as the re-sync. This means the SFDC Activity date/time is not the actual time it occurred in the past, rather, it is the date/time of the re-sync.
Our SFDC Sync Settings are in the screenshot attached.
Is this expected sync behavior? If not, what might be causing the SFDC Activity sync in this way?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes - AFAIK that's an expected behavior, SFDC activities like "Add to SFDC Campaign" activity do get stamped with the record's re-creation time stamp in Marketo from the SFDC.

Additionally, you can refer this community blog post on Deleting a Synced Record in Marketo or SFDC.
Which talks about how you can have a custom sync rule set-up to prevent/delete re-creation of records in Marketo. Thank you.
