Segmenting a Smartlist

Hello all,

We use a marketing opt-in flag to send out our marketing emails. We have this on most of our forms to allow anyone to either opt-in or opt-out of our marketing emails. We also like to send different marketing emails to different segments of this list so we do not exhaust our marketing list in one shot.

Is there a way to do this dynamically? We have been using static lists that we split into 6 different segments. However, this requires manual intervention and the lists quickly become stale.

Is there an easier way of doing this? Does anyone have experience with this? How do you manage your main marketing lists?

Thanks in advance,
Clark

Re: Segmenting a Smartlist

Why not use a smart list instead of a static list? Create if - then conditions for each list. Then on your campaigns, set if member of smart list A > send email A, If member of smart list B > send email B

Re: Segmenting a Smartlist

What would you use to create these segments? We usually don't put any logic into how we segment. We simple take the master list and seperate it into 6 equal partitions. Is there a way to do this dynamically?
