salesforce account field does not sync to marketo

Hi,

In Marketo field mapping, we have mapped our SFDC account fields to some existing Marketo fields, for e.g. Industry field. 

However, we noticed that when there's an update in Salesforce Industry field, it does not populate Lead's Industry field in Company's Info in Marketo.

Any idea on what happened? I've check all crudentials. Seems ok. Everything else sync ok except Account.

Hi,

I'm a little confused on the flow of data you are expecting. Marketo does not modify Account fields.

Ideally your SFDC fields should be mapped from Lead to Contact in almost all cases.
 

Do you mean that Account.Industry > Lead.Industry and that you change Account.Industry and expect Lead.Industry to be updated? Marketo won't do that in that direction or the other direction (except on conversion).

Hi Josh,

It's from SFDC to Marketo. In Marketo Contacts, the contents in "Company Info" tab links to SFDC Accounts. When we modify the value of "Industry" field in SFDC Accounts, we don't see the new value copied to Marketo's "Industry" field in "Company Info". 

In the Field Mapping page, this field is mapped and there is no field blocking. So, we're not sure what went wrong.

We found the reason. The Industry field is hidden in SFDC. It syncs after setting to visible.
