My sales team has a need to report on the number of activities (emails, phone calls, meetings) that a sales rep has undertaken by time period (day, week, or month). Since Sales Insight messages are not saved as activities, however, I can't think of a way to get that data into a SFDC dashboard. I know how to get the Sales Insight

No, but you could set up Marketo so that it logs a task in SFDC when a sales email is sent. Go to admin -> salesforce, click the edit button for the "sync options" and check the "Sales email sent" checkbox.

You could also run the Sales Insight Email Performance Report in Marketo and set your sales reps as subscribers to the report so they get it automatically sent to them.
