Is it advisable to send sales alert via batch campaign instead of trigger? The data value change for this campaign is updated overnight via API, so any sales alerts immediately sent would get buried in the sales team's inbox by morning.

Per Josh Hill, I'm not sure Alerts can be sent as part of batch campaigns (https://nation.marketo.com/message/140926#comment-140926)
Depending on the number of leads, this could fill up their inbox pretty quickly and the S/N ratio of alerts would quickly diminish their efficacy.
Maybe consider sending a report out each morning instead?

'Send Alerts' can be used in batch campaigns. We've used them in the past as a workaround to the limitation of not being able to CC the sales exec on the email that's sent (using a hard-coded email address). Since we usually use tokens in our sales alerts in the "other email" field, this is where we hit a brick wall - you can't use tokens in sales alerts within a batch campaign. Like Jason mentioned, this could get messy if this approached is used with hard-coded email addresses. Not sure if it works when using the lead/sales owner as the recipient.
