Repeatable editable regions in email templates.

Does anyone know if you can define repeatable editable regions in the email templates.

For example, I want to have a 'story' block containing an image, headline and copy. And then in the editor, I can add or remove these blocks without editing the template.

Somtimes I want 2 stories, sometimes 6. It's a pain to have to edit the template each time to change the number of stories.

Templates are more code-oriented than drag-n-drop interfaces .

In my humble opinion that sort of functionality is more suitable for automated code generation tools producing final content.

Just thought of this and want to throw it out there, what if you made 6 email templates? You could have a list of email templates to pick from based on how many stories you plan on including in this current issue titled something like 2 Story Template, 3 Story Template etc.

It might be a bit of work up front, but if you usually retain the same design elements on every 3 story template for example, it might be worth cranking these 6 out and then never worrying about editng the template when you change up the number of stories from week to week.

I've gone through this myself and what I did was create a template with 5 or 10 repeating editable areas. Then I cloned the template and removed 1 editable block area.  Then cloned it again and made 1 less editable block each time.  That way we have multiple templates to choose from based on the number of stories we have for our newsletters and blogs.

Thanks guys, I think creating multiple templates is the way to go.

I'm used to Campaign Monitor for Email campaigns, and the repeatable region feature was built into their email editor. I suppose I just have to get used to a different system with a different way of thinking.

Is there a place to leave feature requests? My company just switched to Marketo from MailChimp and not having repeatable sections is going to make the transition a nightmare.

We have something like 20 unique email templates, each with multiple sections, and each section can contain any number of content items. 

Even just thinking about how to properly name / organize everything is making my head spin ...

Marketo, plese tell me this is something you have in the works ?
