RCM Gates - What Do You Use Them For?

Wondering what you're using gates for in your RCM. I'm seeing a lot of different posts asking if gates are working but trying to understand why they'd be used in place of inventory stages.

I do not know of anyone who uses them And AFAIK, they have no real interest.
