We have noticed that, when using Marketo to send emails to our employees, regardless of what we put in the "From" field of the email (Human Resources, Executive Team, etc.), the actual email, when received, has switched to a more generic term that appears to be a shortened version of the email used as the reply email. This wasn't always the case. Is there a way to fix that? Thanks!
That's because your own servers are resolving that generic email address to the friendly name/alias that's tied to that email address. This is expected behavior and will only happen for your internal emails. It's not a Marketo issue.
Ok. Thanks. Is there a way around it?
Yes - work with your internal email team to create another generic email address - and name it how you want it to appear; or ask your email/IT team to modify the name/alias of the existing emailbox.
