"[customer].mktoweb.com uses an invalid security certificate" HTTPS error message

I'm testing using a form on our site to submit info into Marketo.

When submitting the form in Firefox I get an error message:

"[customer].mktoweb.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.marketo.com, marketo.com"

Does Marketo need to add mktoweb.com to their HTTPS certificate?

mktoweb.com domains are not intended for use with public facing content, they exist so you can point a landing page CNAME at them.  If you're using this CNAME publicly, I strongly suggest switching to one using your own branding: https://docs.marketo.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=2360189

Dan, following on Kenny's comment, if you wish to use your landing page domain(s) over https -- and I absolutely think you should -- you'll need to upload your SSL cert to Marketo. There's an on-boarding fee associated with this, but it's worth it. Do note that unless you have a dedicated IP address (another additional cost) IE8 users won't be able to use your site over https. So you should pin down your company's browser support policy to aid in decision-making.

You often can eliminate the on-boarding cost by running your Marketo LPs via a separate CDN. But bear in mind that while the CDN may not charge for the SSL cert import, they will charge (by definition) for your traffic. So if you have low traffic, the CDN will be cheap or even free. If you have high traffic to your LPs, you'll pay (fractions of a penny per hit, but it can add up).
