We've been experiencing a salesforce sync issue for a while and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions to fix it. We run a lot of automation based on the contact lead status field in SF. We're seeing an issue where marketo will have the right status on the lead, but when the lead is converted in SF, marketo will pull the converted lead status (which is "Converted") into marketo as the new person status.
This Converted status will then push to the SF contact. Is there any way to prevent marketo from syncing a converted lead status? Any advice would be appreciated.

Apologies if I'm missing anything obvious here but, ideally, shouldn't you keep parity between the Person Status values in the Marketo and SFDC? It would be a bit challenging to navigate if the Person Status values differ b/w records in Marketo and SFDC (unless of course if you have an eccentric process that requires you to have different status values b/w platforms). That being said, if you don't want Marketo to write the Person Status on the Contact records, you can just update the sync user’s permissions so it could only read data from the Contact object for that field.

Hi,
Following up here. Were you able to find a different solution to this apart from changing the permissions of the sync user?
