Photo placement in emails

I'm new to Marketo, and I have a question for the more experienced users. I was able to upload a jpeg file, and it's showing up in the images folder. My problem is when I try to place it in the body of an email. It isn't showing in the dropdown menu. Is there a step that I missed, or does anyone out there know what to type to get the image without using the dropdown?

Any help is appreciated!

Re: Photo placement in emails

I uploaded a new image to design studio to test this out, and when I tried to insert it into an email, it likewise did not appear as an option in the list of images and files.

When I logged out and then logged back into my account, it appeared as an option. It's likely that it simply takes some time for a change in one place to show up everywhere unless it's "refreshed" by logging in and out.

Hey Melissa,

To clarify, it is not showing in the folder that you placed the image in?

It's showing in the folder, but not the drop down. I'm going to try logging out and logging back in. Thank you both for replying!

Re: Photo placement in emails

If you're in a pinch and the image won't show up no matter what you do, you could also click the "HTML" button in the "Edit Section" window (appears when you double click on the text in the Email Designer), and insert the following where you want the image to appear, with the url to the image you want (just replace my url with yours):

<img src="http://www.astrobio.net/includes/preview.php?gen=../images/news_images/News_Image_1247.jpg&widthVal=250&auto=1">

If you're in Design Studio and go to Images and Files, then click on the name of the image you uploaded, its URL will be displayed, along with other details about the image.

You would need to be familiar with html/CSS to adjust the position of the image, stretch/shrink it, etc.

Another way to do this is in design studio, double click on the image to get the url.  In the body of your email, click on the area where you want to insert your image, and then click on the image icon.  A pop-up window will appear, add the image url on the image url field.  In the advanced tab, add the vertical and horizontal padding.  Voila! Your image will appear on your email.
