OpportunityRole on Anonymous lead
It does not seem to be possible to link an OpportunityRole to an
anonymous
lead via the SOAP API
Can someone confirm this is the case?

This makes sense because an Anonymous lead cannot have an Opp because it cannot sync to the CRM.
