Numbers aren't adding up when using default

Hello! I was wondering if someone can help me with this question.

So I sent out an email, let's say the criteria for this is Region Segment is APAC and the Job segment is: Bakers and let's say the total send list size for this is 10 people (making this up)

And let's say I am sending another email with the same criteria except Region and Job segment is default and the total send list size for this is 50.

But if I combine these two together, so Region is APAC and Default And Job Segment is Bakers and Default, the number is much higher like, 100 (also made up but the difference is significantly larger).  Is this normal? I would think that the number will be 60 since all I am doing is adding in the an extra value but this seems like a huge jump

Sorry, this is simply insufficient information.

I imagine you're misunderstanding how your Smart List filters are operating, assuming you have disjoint (i.e. exclusive) sets of leads being stacked, when in fact you're creating a larger union of leads across multiple criteria.

I think you should post screenshots of the actual Smart Lists. This'll be more helpful than hypotheticals. Make sure to include the whole Smart List pane.

Apologies! I didn't get a message so I thought no one responded!

But it's basically this:

Email 1 has Geo as APAC,EMEA,NA,LATAM and Verticals is Manufacturer 80k

Email 2 has Geo as Default and Verticals as Default 50k

Email 3 (pending) will have all of them combined into one 200k

All the Smart Lists, including the send Smart Lists and Segment SLs too, please. Not just this one with nested Segments.

Re: Numbers aren't adding up when using default

Hey! So this would be a send list smart list and the logic behind the segmentations and smart lists are also very simple.

The breakdown for the active email list segmentation is basically person is not unsubscribed or invalid and suppress people with internal email addresses.

As for the region segmentation it's pretty simple so for something like EMEA segment it'll be

(Country field is EMEA country) or (Country is empty and inferred country is EMEA)

As for verticals it's Job Title is Job function is <job function from our form>
