I am trying to build a report on Device Type filter.
However, some of my emails don't have this data populated. At all. What would be the reason? And how to repair it?

Well, the Device Type is a system managed field and there isn't a way to back-fill/update data to this field (even if there was a way, it would be difficult to get the accurate device on which the user had engaged previously). Marketo can't determine the User Agent, Device Type info, etc. for the email activity when it fails to retreive and/or send the UA strings/ID's that email clients use to ID themselves back.
