that's an incredibly open ended question.
In general terms, I work with clients to have robust and regular data extracts into a database (which one isn't critical) so that reports can be build in the tool of your choice (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc).
Make sure your extracts include an ID that let's you harmonise reporting across the two platforms (i.e. have a SFDC ID mirror field in Marketo, and ensure that's included in your Marketo lead extracts so that you can link Marketo leads to Salesforce Contacts and Leads).
Ultimately, you need to engage with the broader business on two things:
- What do they need to report on. What metrics matter to them?
- What are the current tool sets (i.e. database, reporting, etl) so that you can build a technical solution that fits the business needs in point 1.
