Hi all,
Is there a known issue with Marketo tracked links causing an error message when directed to a .aspx webpage?
The scenario is:
A Marketo email with two links, both .aspx pages with Munchkin code, is sent. Link A has a Marketo form iframed on a .aspx page, Link B has no form but does have Munchkin tracking code on a .aspx webpage. Both pages are part of the same microsite.
Link A (the page with the Marketo form) works fine with the Marketo tracking code.
Link B (the page with no form) gives the error message: error.aspx?aspxerrorpath
The same error message was given when additional links were tested with normal tracking enable directed to the same .aspx website.
All links work with the Marketo tracking disabled using class=MktoNoTrack, however it is important in this campaign to track clicks link in email to both measure engagement and cookie known leads.
This community article suggested that a Marketo landing page used to redirect to the .aspx page would allow the clicks to be tracked and still land on the .aspx webpage: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000Kyq2&src=comm
However, the link to the redirect page worked, but upon redirecting to the .aspx page the same error.aspx?aspxerrorpath message was given. This redirect worked fine when tested with Link A to the .aspx Contact page with the iframed Marketo form.
Does anyone have experience with linking to .aspx pages? I would like to know why this is causing an error message on all pages except the one with the iframed Marketo form, and how we can track clicks while still linking to these .aspx pages?
Thanks for your help!
