Hey everyone,
I'm seeking an equivalent of Eloqua's redirect links. This is a phenomenal feature of Eloqua, where if you have an incorrect link go out in an email, you have a backend way of fixing it. This can really reduce risk. What it does is allows you to create a redirect link that has an ID, and if that link changes or breaks, you can update it on the backend and all is fixed. The email reflects the change.
Is there any plugin on Launchpoint or platform that does this? Feels like a really nice feature that is missing.
It totally is. First one we had in a year and a half that happened on a complex, last minute project. An email went out with a link to the previous month's webinar, not this month's. We noticed it immediately after the send.
So it's not a situation where we could create a LP redirect because that old page was in use. I know we can do that in the URL tools. But if both URLs are live so the redirect needs to happen on the email side, not the LP.
In Eloqua, all we would have had to do is take that individual link's ID in the email, hop to the Redirects section, plug in the ID and adjust the destination URL. Fixed. That appears to be functionality missing. Instead, this one time issue requires an "OOPS" email.
Did the URL have query parameters that would have distinguished it from the older campaign/program?
Unfortunately not. They're both part of the same campaign, same UTM parameters, just different link. Its a webinar series so it is pretty consistent.
