I connected our WebEx event with Marketo to promote our upcoming webinar. Plan was to have Marketo host the registration landing page, form, and autoresponder emails. However, Marketo is not pulling in the correct WebEx event url when you register for the event.
Case 1 - I register using WebEx registration page. I get a confirmation email right away with the URL to join the webinar https://placeholder.webex.com/onstage/g.php?MTID=e0a7058e712bb0f9cb21bd5f8b2fb221c
Case 2 - I register using Marketo landing page that is connected with the same WebEx event. I'm also using a Marketo confirmation email. The email has this link via the webinar token: https://placeholder.webex.com/m.php?MTID=edd36fea7c6ac4cb6be1b3b53e50a18c2&BU=http://info.placeholde.... This directed me the Marketo landing page to register instead of the WebEx event page. Also the URL is WRONG.
Case 3 - I turned off the Marketo conf email and turned on the autoresponder email within WebEx thinking we can at least send the right link via WebEx email. But this doesn't work either. If I registered via the Marketo landing page, WebEx didn't send the conf email even though the registrant is recorded in WebEx. Does Marketo over rule WebEx automated emails?
Anyone have similar issues? Or tell me how I can send WebEx emails while using Marketo landing page to register people?
Here are some things that I would double check:
If you register 2-3 test leads with case 2 are the tokens different, they should be unique
Have you checked that the token in the confirmation email doesn't have any anomalies that you can tell?
If you delay sending out the confirmation emails, does anything change? (This shouldn't but you never know if its a timing issue or a race condition)
If you fire off a confirmation email manually and not through a trigger does that work with the token.
It should work as you described. In Case 3 I would not expect that to fire off a confirmation email. That is expected behavior. Without actually seeing some screen shots, it's hard to say. Usually in these cases it's something "minor" that is causing the issue. Go through process of elimination and test every aspect.
The token is pulling the data and URL from WebEx but that URL is wrong. So I don't think firing the email manually resolve the issue. Plus manual email firing of hundreds of registrants is not the way to go. =(
For case 3 - I don't understand why WebEx autoresponder emails are not firing. I've never had that issue with GoToWebinar.
