Why does Marketo take one of our links (https://www.ourwebsite.org/...), temporarily redirect it to an http://e.ourdomain.org/... address before resolving to our recognizable link (https://www.ourwebsite.org/...) with the Marketo tokens appended? I understand the tokens, but what I don't understand is the need to redirect in the first place.
Do the redirects expire after a year? I don't think they're supposed to, but some of our staff think they are.

That's the way email tracking works! The link is rewritten so the person first visits the Marketo-hosted tracking server ("branding server") so the click is logged, then they're JS-redirected to the original destination.
Thanks, Sanford. I'm a mere marketer, not a programmer. Mystery solved.
Do these redirects expire?
They do not expire.
