Is there a way to reassociate a cookie with a lead record without the lead taking another action?

One of our team members accidentally merged two lead records for different people that had the same first name and same company.  We recreated the "deleted" lead by importing it from our monthly Marketo export of all records.  However, their cookie is now associated with the other person's lead record.

Is there a way to change the lead record association on our end or does the lead have to click a link in an email we send them or fill out a form to reassociate this?

Bonus question: I was able to change the Acquisition Date and the Success Date for the programs that the person was a member of (had to manually add them back to those programs), but is there a way to change the Create Date?

You could do this if you had the Cookie ID of that person, but that's usually not possible because Marketo does not expose the Cookie ID in the activity log.

If you do have the cookie ID, you can submit a form using that person's email address and the Cookie ID in a field called _mkt_trk. You could do this with  a custom form of via using Firebug to enter the Cookie ID in the hidden _mkt_trk field (which is on every Marketo form).

Thanks Jep, I don't have the Cookie ID of that person.  I would think that the lead record would have a field (_mkt_trk ?) with the cookie ID value in it so that it could match the lead record with page visits.  If not, how does Marketo know which lead record to add page visit activity to?

0 or more cookie IDs can be associated with a Lead record in the Marketo database, however, this is not visible anywhere.
