Impact of changing the local-part of sender email address

We are considering changing the local-part of our sender email.  We will keep the domain that same.  Do we need to "warm" the new email address?

Don't worry about warming, but if any recipients have deliberately added an exception for marketing@example.com they will not have an exception for mktg@example.com.
