If there a way for Marketo to retain all of the SFDC information even if a lead is removed from SFDC but not from the Marketo database?

Hi there,

We are in the process of a major data cleanse and process overhaul with our Marketo-Salesforce integration. Ideally, we would like to have the ability to send qualified leads back to Marketo after a failed BD for further marketing nurturing while retaining any SFDC notes and remove the lead from SFDC until it is ready to return to the sales team.

Has anyone had luck with a similar process? We want to keep SFDC as streamlined as possible and maintain the bulk of our database within Marketo.

Thanks!

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

Marketo can retain all lead field info. But what you want to achieve is hard to do, since at the first change of a lead in Marketo, it will be pushed back to SFDC.

I would consider an alternative : use some restricted sharing rules and isolate those leads in SFDC, so that the sales can no longer see them. This can be done with a private sharing model on leads an assigning the leads to a Queue to which the sales would not be given access.

Then, when in the future the leads become "sales ready" again, you will be able to reassign them with SFDC workflows or Marketo Lead Management smart campaigns.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the reply. This may help to solve our current situation.
