If I import a static list into Marketo will it create SFDC leads?

I have a list of analysts I would like to upload into Marketo so we can periodically email them. If I upload a static list, will Salesforce create lead records for them?

I only want to email them, they don't need to be in Salesforce as leads.

Hi Alyssa,

By default, leads are not added to SFDC from Marketo. You'd need to have a campaign/flow action that tells Marketo to sync the lead to SFDC. 

So if you avoid the Sync Lead to SFDC on these leads, as well as the implied SFDC sync actions (https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000KzDwCAK), they will just remain in Marketo

There is a campaign ready to be activated to sync new leads to Salesforce. If I use a Smart List for the analysts and use the filter SFDC Type is not Lead or Contact, should that prevent the list of analysts from getting pushed to Salesforce?
