How to flag registrants from a WebEx webinar, when landing page goes directly to WebEx registration page?

Hello,

I reviewed the documentation on WebEx Event integration (Create an Event with WebEx - Marketo Docs - Product Docs ), but there are multiple steps missing to answer questions related to follow-up emails and flagging statuses (Registrants, Attendees, Non-Attendees).

Our setup is slightly different, we are not using a Marketo landing page but rather pointing the user to WebEx to register for the webinar.

I'd like to capture those that registered in the Webinar program I am running so that I can send them a targeted follow-up email 1 week before and 1 day before the event.

Thank you.

Nimisha: any landing page / form that you use will be fine, as long as it passes the minimum amount of information required by WebEx to register someone (usually something like a name and an email address).

Basically, you add Webex as an event partner in Marketo, then select WebEx as the event partner in the webinar program that you create.  To register someone, you just have a smart campaign set to change the lead's program status to "registered" when they fill the form out on your registration landing page.  Data will automatically sync the other direction after your webinar is complete w/ information on attendance vs. non-attendance for everyone that registered.

Good luck!

Re: How to flag registrants from a WebEx webinar, when landing page goes directly to WebEx registration page?

If the integration w/ WebEx is anything like the integration with Readytalk, Brighttalk, and others - the registration status doesn't get passed from the event partner to the Marketo instance, just the attended status after the event.

The way around this is to follow the instructions provided by your event partner / Marketo for creating a landing page for the event - using that form to change the program status of the leads to "registered" in order to trigger the event partner's own series of follow-ups and/or adding the lead to the event - and then doing whatever you want to do to the leads in your Marketo instance before the event occurs and they are divided automatically into attended / non-attended.

Thank you Mark.  Would anyone be able to point me to a landing page and form template that is used to sync with WebEx?  So that data flows through both systems (Marketo and WebEx)?

Thanks!
