We use the email program to do A/B testing for subject lines and whole emails. We seem to be running into a problem in adding the email that's being tested to any progression status smart campaigns - in our case, for opens and converts.
The campaign is set up so that anyone opening or clicking on a particular link in the email being tested will trigger an action. We've noticed that if the program is unapproved, the smart campaigns can't find the email that we're testing so that we can add it to the progression statuses. Once the program is approved, the email can be found (with "Whole email" or "subject line" appended to the email name) to add to the progression status.
The problem is that we have a subset of Marketo users who do not have the rights to approve programs because we did not want them to have the ability to send emails without previously running it by our email QA team. However, this means that they're submitting incomplete programs as they can't add the emails to the progression statuses. Is there any way to add the test emails to the progression statuses without having to approve the program?
