We are using Salesforce and want to map the status (MQL, Sales Accepted, etc) at both the Lead Object and Contact Object. Please advise. My salesforce/marketo admin is having trouble making this happen since its a standard field at the lead level but a custom field at the contact level. Suggestions? We also want it to be a pick list.
You should be able to do this in SFDC by going to Field Management > Lead and then telling SFDC that Lead Status should map to Contact Status on conversion.
What exactly is the Admin having trouble with?
The challenge may be that Marketo won't realize the connection easily, so you may have to ask Support to help on the Marketo end.
In Salesforce: On your Lead object go to fields and select button "Map Lead fields". Now you would be able to select your field to map with field which is on your Contact object. If your field is not in use and do not hold any data against it try changing the data type for the field to be picklist.
In Marketo go to Admin tab--> Field management--> Field mapping--> locate your field and you would be able to map it on Lead and contact object.
