How do I stagger a send of about 10K to about 2,000 per day over 5 days?

Due to some deliverability issues, we've been told that reducing the number sent at once will help. I know how to use the random sample filter in the flow step to send with A/B Testing - not sure if I can create a wait step between random samples of 20% from the same list.

Martin, the link no longer works for me either.  Please open a case with tech support and they should be able to fix this for you.  The previous link was https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000L3Hc&src=comm

The link to the "How to Throttle Email Sends with Marketo" isn't working right now, the following error keeps coming up:

"An Error occurred while processing your request. Please try again later."

Not sure if the article just isn't available any more or if it's moved..

A workaround we've round it to throttle it by what the first name begins with...For example,

If the first name starts with, A,B,C,D,E,F send email called XXX - default - do nothing; wait one day; if they first name starts with G,H,I,J,K,L send email XXX - default - do nothing; wait one day.... don't forget to put one in there for if the first name is blank.

This isn't an exact split, but since Marketo doesn't have a way to throttle emails (hopefully soon b/c that's like a basic need for any email provider), it seems to do decent job of splitting them up.

The help article How to Throttle Email Sends with Marketo explains how to do this.

I'd do this with static lists. Create a smart campaign with 5 random samples of 20% each, write each to a unique static list, then send to those lists in a staggered fashion.
