Hopefully a step by step article is on the way this week.

You need to 1st set up the integration in Admin -> Launchpoint. You have to create a new service, select Facebook,

Click authorize Marketo. Then you will be prompted to login into Facebook and grant Marketo permission.

Then on any smart list you should see the facebook icon at the bottom. Clicking it will send the members of your list to your custom audience in Facebook and Facebook will search for a match. (But you won't know who is or isn't a match)

Yeah, we had the Business Manager conversation with them months ago. This use hadn't even occurred to them when we spoke to them, and obviously it's still not implemented.

Hi Robin Wu / Kari Rippetoe - We tested the FB custom audience integration with Business Manager enabled and found the audience was created properly.  Is there additional behavior you're expecting?  If so, let's chat.

Travis Kaufman, were you able to create an audience as well as push the leads from Marketo? It wasn't working when I tried last month. Was there upgrade done on the feature in the last few weeks? If so, I will give it another try...

We were able to create the audience.  One thing to check that is specific to Business Manager, make sure you have created an audience within Business Manager via Power Editor.  This step is required so you can accept Facebook's custome audience terms of service.  Once you've done that you should be good to go.

Hey Travis,

1. Is this still the case that you have to create custom audience for Business Manager via Power Editor? But Power editor only allows creation off ad-campaigns?

2. We are trying to push leads (smart list) via ad-bridge from Marketo, but can't see the list of existing audiences in the drop down field in Marketo - would you know why? any troubleshooting solutions?

Cheers,

Vibha.

Hello Vibha!

May I ask that you please open a support ticket so that our technical support engineers can troubleshoot the issue? You should be able to email support@marketo.com and someone will reach out shortly. Please mention my name and I'll be sure to monitor the case as well.

Thanks!

We are still experiencing this same problem and would appreciate any information Marketo could provide or others could share.

Hi Travis, I'm also having issues with the Adbridge when using FB Business Manager. To confirm I understand what you've said properly - I need to create a Custom Audience in Facebook first but not add any leads to it, and then update that audience using my Marketo SmartList? I don't seem to be able to create an audience without adding leads to it within FB...

Hi Kym - That is correct.  You should be able to create that first custom audience in Power Editor using the copy/paste a custom list.  You should at that point be prompted to accept Facebook's custom audience terms of service.  If you are still unable to push an audience in from Marketo, please file a ticket with support and we can walk you through the steps.

Hi Travis Kaufman

We use Business Manager and are currently unable to get a smart list to push to a custom audience. I filed a Support ticket one month ago. It has since been escalated to Tier 3 support, but I have not heard back regarding a solution. Is what you're discussing above still the recommended option to try? If so, would you be available to discuss this?

Thank you!

Hello Sarah!

I'm so sorry that support hasn't been able to help thus far. I am reaching out to you directly via Email, let's take a look at the ticket and get to the bottom of the issue you're experiencing.

Thanks,

Reza.

Thanks for clarifying Travis. I've been able to create the audience via Marketo as well, but the problem is that it wasn't pushing the leads over from Marketo to the FB Audience. So based on your reply, it sounds like you aren't able to push the leads to FB either.

Hey Travis, I already opened up a ticket with Support and the last update on this was on April 1st and I was told that FB Audiences was not compatible with Business Manager yet. The workaround provided was to manually export from Marketo and upload to FB, but this is more or less manual work we've already been doing, so it doesn't help improve or streamline our business's workflow.

Understood Robin.  We'll take a look.

Hey Travis, I noticed the FB icon on the Leads tab has changed to the Ad Bridge icon (person with target symbol). Is Ad Bridge the same as the Custom Audiences now? I had asked at one of the sessions at the conference and was told firmly that they're different (though no explanation provided). So I'm really confused now. I'll update my ticket with support to inquire.

Hi Robin - Apologies for the confusion.  Ad Bridge is a collection of product capabilities of which the Facebook custom audiences integration is one of the components.  You can find each of the Ad Bridge components outlined on marketo.com.

Hey Travis Kaufman,

I am experiencing the same thing as Robin Wu.

I also have had a support ticket open for a week or so.

Feel free too look into my account too (or I'll just follow this issue to see what you find 😉 )

Thanks,

-Ryan

For those who may be trying to use this on Business Manager, I've been tinkering with it and have consulted Tech Support, and it seems that it isn't compatible with it yet! No ETA yet on when it will be.
