I see people adding GA4 and/or GTM tracking for Marketo LPs. Is this necessary? I don't want Marketo LPs to compete with our website's ranking. I don't want Marketo LPs to show up in SERPs because a handful of those pages are very old and have wrong information. So, just using Marketo analytics to observe the LPs' traffic is good enough?
2 different questions here.
You don’t need to let the crawler index your Marketo LPs. But we almost always run GA because we want to see journeys that start with Marketo LPs and continue to other sites under the same domain.
Also, if you’re logging GTM Data Layer events for embedded Marketo forms, it makes sense to log events for forms on Marketo LPs.
Hi @lvorhis If you want your landing pages do not appear in search results:
You can add <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> tag on the Marketo landing pages where you don’t want indexed.
Hope that would helpful.
Thanks!!
In addition to configuring robots.txt
