We have a custom field against a lead layout in SFDC called 'name of referring partner.' The field type was originally created as a picklist type with multiple values (for the partners). I changed the field type this morning from picklist to text.
I have created a form in Marketo and used the field, however it is still presenting that field as a picklist, with the previous values. I even changed the input type on the form to text and deleted the values.
Why is this still showing as a picklist - do I need to do something to sync the new field type to Marketo?
If you already mapped fields from SFDC to Marketo then change that field type in SFDC it will not update that field type in Marketo. This is because you may have activities, flows etc using that field.
If memory serves It will create a new field in Marketo. If you want this to be remaped to your orignal field, best create a support ticket explaining your change.
Is the field present and mapped to the contact object? If so, you should try updating the field there as well. According to the article below, in order for the changes to the field to show in Marketo you must update the field on both the Lead & Contact objects.
