Re: Engagement Engine - Using a smart campaign to make lead skip to next piece of content?

If I include a smart campaign from a program in my stream that has a smart list excluding some of the leads, will the leads that are not included in that smart campaigns be sent on to the next piece of content in the stream? Or will they have to wait for the next cast before they get another piece of content? I don’t want them to be skipped for a cast if they dont qualify for the pending piece of content.

Thank you Edward. Could you share a screenshot of the flow for the triggered exclusion?

This may be regressing by a step, but I still have a heck of a time with Smart Campaigns and Engagement Programs.

In your example, if you add that program (LNA...) to your Engagement Program...when it asks you to select a Smart Campaign, what Smart Campaign do you select? One of the several listed in the LNA Program? Or is there an independent Smart Campaign for the Engagement Program?

Thank you for your help. This is something I have just not been able to wrap my head around.

I changed the email cast channel progressions, to add an "Exclusion" status. Then set up batch/trigger campaigns to add the leads into that program with the Exclusion progression status. That way the engagement program will skip.

I'm talking on this exact topic at the Summit: How to take Intelligent Lead Nurturing to the Next Level. 🙂

Hi y'all, Despite reading and re-reading this I am still not clear. Like Jason B. if a lead has already downloaded Content A, I don't want them to receive an email via their engagement program asking them to download Content A.

It seems that I should build a smart campaign but I'm not exactly sure how. Here's what I would build

Smart list: (Filter) Member of Engagement Program,  (Filter) Not Filled Out Content A Download Form
Flow: Send Email
Schedule: _____ what should go here?

Should I be using a trigger instead of a filter in the smart list? If so, which one?

Hey Jason:

I just ran into the same problem and desire. I started this idea to add a "Request Next Cast" flow step to solve the problem. I referenced the discussion you started here.

Time to champion the idea and get it included!

We haven't started using our new nurture programs yet, but yes that sounds correct.

Thanks! So my stream consists of programs instead of the actual email

1. WP 1 Nurture Program
2. WP 2 Nurture Program
3. WP 3 Nurture Program

Each program will have smartlist "Not was sent email" contains WP 1, otherwise send WP 1. And I dont have to set up a wait step inside the programs since I can set the cadence in the stream. And as Cheryl mentioned if a lead is skipped for WP 1, they will have to wait another 2 weeks to receive WP 2?

Is this correct way to do this? Thanks for your help again Jason.

@Wing S

You could use the "not clicked link" or "not was sent email" filters to keep those leads from getting the whitepaper again.

Jason - what are your filters in setting up a smart campaign inside a stream? I dont want the leads who have received whitepaper 1 (from our other programs) to receive whitepaper 1 again in my stream, what's the best way to go around this? Thanks!
