Hey all,
We recently embedded some Marketo forms on our Wordpress blog, to encourage readers to check out some of our long-form content. However, I've noticed that some new leads coming through these forms aren't getting their Acquisition Program populated to these content programs.
Is this normal behavior, or am I missing something? All leads are correctly flowing through the campaign, and their Progression Status is being set to Engaged. So they are a member of the program, and the SFDC program, but new leads aren't getting Acquisition Program Name populated... any ideas?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Sometimes you need to make the Acquisition Program Name explicit using a Change Data Value in the flow.
Are you sure these leads are net new and acquired by to this program?
Is the form inside the Program or outside the Program?

Josh Hill the form is inside the program.. the New Lead's source is Web Form fillout, and it indicates the ebook form. I added a step in the flow, but I didn't think that would be necessary if it was a Marketo form.. that seems a little strange to me. Should I submit a case?
In my experience, you do need to add this step.
We make sure this flow step is included in every smart campaign where success is achieved (or trackable engagement occurs):
Note the two different attributes that are used here. And since it will probably be asked, here's why: Re: What is the difference between the Acquisition Program and Acquisition Program Name?
Also, as Thomas noted below, there is no need to also do this for acquisition date as Marketo will enter that automatically when entering the AP.
On Form Fillout, acquisition program is set based on the landing page where the form was filled out. Since your WP page is not a Marketo LP, it cannot attribute a program to it, so the field isn't set and you'll need to follow Josh's suggestion.
I've experienced the exact same thing. I started noticing the issue, because the programs that are using forms that are embedded on our website, did not produce any new names, and I saw that all leads that fill out the embedded forms (that are program local), do not get acqusition program set automatically.
The opposite is true for all the programs that are capturing leads through landing pages in Marketo, and they are all using a global form.
I've added two new flow steps that checks if acquisition program is empty, and assigns the specific program to acq. program if it is. The same thing goes with acquisition date (NB!)
It appears that acquisition date is automatically set when acquisition program is set, so no need to set this as it's own separate flow step.
