I am fairly new to marketo and all my test sample emails are going into spam if I send them to gmail. When I realized this happened, I uploaded a list of personal gmail addresses and scheduled an email to send. They all went to spam in gmail. Does anyone else have SPAM issues, and is there anything I can do to help this?

Jacquelyn, deliverability (in this case, the subset of deliverability nicknamed "inboxing") depends on a raft of factors beyond content. Do you have DKIM set up? Sending from an extant domain? And have you searched the Community for past threads?
Also Josh Hill has lots of prep reading on these issues. I'll let him recommend some.
