Email open rates increased drastically

Has anyone else's email open rates jumped a ton in the last 2 weeks?

Hi All,

Ive notice regular opens nearer to 50% recently.  I'm suspicious but we have just moved to a dedicated IP and our lists are strictly cleaned.  However Id prefer an increase in CTO.

I really need some way to eliminate the mail scanner activities.  Open rates at the moment feel meaningless.

Can't say I've seen anything appreciable, but what's "a ton" both in absolute terms and percentage-wise?

An increase in logged open rate could be due to 3 very different factors:

1. Pessimistic: mail scanners are clicking the tracking pixel and this isn't a human-driven activity.
2. Neutral: you started sending to a wider base of people with images enabled by default (e.g. Gmail) as opposed to disabled (Outlook).
3. Optimistic: you were removed from a blacklist that was dropping your inbox rate before, started sending better-structured emails, etc.
