Dynamic content, segments: Landing Page editing performance hit?

I'm trying to pinpoint why opening our Landing Pages to edit is taking so long. Marketo are suggesting that dynamic content creates a large perfomance hit and I was wondering what other people's experience has been. How long is your opening time?

For example, I have a very simple LP (no form) that is using dynamic content with 20 segments. This is taking 1minute, 45 seconds to open for editing. This is proving typical for any LPs with dynamic content vs. about 15 seconds for a non-dynamic LP.

What's been your experience of Dynamic and non-Dynamic LP opening times?
