Dynamic Content in email - replace with Snippet not available

Hi all

When it comes to emails with dynamic content, I was hoping to built a number of static snippets, and insert snippets for each segment in the email.

For instance, I have 3 pieces of static Contents (Snippets) A,B,C
One segmention Industry with 4 segments, (I1,I2,I3,I4)
And a dynamic section in the email segmented by Industry
For instance I would like to specify in the email, segment I1 gets Snippet A
I2 Snippet B
I3 Snipeet A
I4 Snippet C
Default snipet A

However this does not seem possible as the "replace with snippet" is blurred out.

The solution offered by Marketo is to create dynamic snippets instead, which works fine, but is not ideal in terms of managing contents. Much easier to build static snippets that you use assign in each segment in the email directly.

Am i missing something? or is this a functionality not covered by Marketo yet

Hi JC.

If you using the content base on a Blast it not always Ideal to use Snippet..

Are solution you can do is to put lokal Rich Text Tokkens base on your segmentation.


The other solution Marketo is suggestin is basic the same you are looking for. It just a question how you edit the content.

The Snippet contains details about which content gets displayed for which segment.  So, once you have changed an email element to be driven from the snippet, you would not be making any further changes from the email editor.  Make sure you edit and approve the snippet to have 

I1 gets Snippet A
I2 Snippet B
I3 Snipeet A
I4 Snippet C
Default snipet A

Thanks for your reply Jan & Raj.

It looks like specifying a static snippet for each segment directly in the email for a dynamic segmented content is not possible.

To follow on your recommendation, I will look at rich text content to see if it meets the needs
