Demo Appointment Reminder Email - 24 hours before?

We are trying to figure out what's the best way to have a salesperson log a demo in SalesForce and then trigger an appointment reminder for the client that goes out from Marketo.

Is anyone currently doing this? And if so, what are you using in SalesForce - Opportunities, Activities, Tasks or something else?

The email from Marketo would need to pull in the day of the week, date, time and salesperson info dynamically to inform the prospect.

Sure have the sales rep pick a date in SFDC for the demo in a custom field e.g. "Demo Date". Then in a workflow used an advanced wait step that looking for a Date Token "Demo Date" minus "1 Day" to send the email.

You can also use that date field being populated in a workflow to log an activity for a demo on the leads activity record.
