Decrementing a Lead Score by "No Activity"

Hello,

I am setting up a lead scoring campaign, and I want to include some steps to decrement a lead's score if they do not perform any activities within a certain timeframe (i.e. did not open an email, did not click a link, did not visit webpage over the last 30 days, over the last 60-90 days, etc.).

I do not have it set up correctly because yesterday I entered new leads into Marketo and their lead scores were decremented because they had not performed any of the activities we identified - but that's because they were newly added to the system and wouldn't have had the opportunity to do so. Meanwhile, I'm not sure if the rest of the steps I set up (i.e. no activity after 90 days, etc.) are even set-up properly.

Can anyone suggest how to set-up a lead score campaign to decrement points based on no activity?

Thanks very much!

Re: Decrementing a Lead Score by "No Activity"

Hi Carrie,
you have to use the "Not Score Was Changed" filter.

I use:
Not Score Was Changed
Last 30 Days
Change Score - 10

The logic is, IF the lead score has not been increased by some other trigger or filter, then decrease after a period of time.  Make sure that all types of desired activity increase (change) the value other wise you risk decreasing the lead score for users that have had some type of engagement.

Thanks Matt! I'll set it up that way and I'll be sure to go back and score all the desired activites appropriately.

Thanks again,
Carrie
