Deciding on a From name and email address: person vs. company

We are decided whether to use my From name and work email address or a generic one such as [(company name) Marketing] [marketing@company.com]. I notice more and more companies using real people's details for From. 

What are your recommendations and which choice is best to reduce the likelihood of being marked as SPAM? I'm guessing using a real person's name and email is optimal but I want to be certain. If we went with my email address, I'm concerned about managing all the out of office replies.

I think as long as the domain is the same as your company, using any email is fine as far as spam.

We set up a separate email address "mailer@" for both the to and from because even when our "reply to" was the mailer, a number of our reps continued to receive the auto-replies since they are able to override the reply-to. 

You'd want to use your name, or another 'real person', at your company to increase open rates. Any name is better than somethinge generic. Your chance of being caught in SPAM traps is more based on your IP. If you don't have a separate IP for your instance, you're sending from Marketo's servers, who SHOULD have a good reputation. Hypothetically, you shouldn't have an issue either way, provided you're managing your own Marketo IP properly/in according with CAN-SPAM. 

Basically, using your name or email address will definitely increase your reputation. But whether its your email address vs. a generic one won't matter for SPAM traps AS much.

Depending on the situation, you may want to use a "fake name" address that is a real person so that person doesn't get all the email. This is how I do this:

Generic Email Boxes:
events@
webinars@
news@
marketing@

Person:
Lead Owner for nurturing in some situations
real name for some situations: josh.hill@company.com
real name, fake address: josh.d.hill@company.com > proxy to marketing@ -- that way you can monitor responses w/o involving the executive.
