I used a custom field as a token within four emails but then decided to replace it with another standard token. Since I don´t need mentioned custom field right now, I wanted to hide it, but it still references all emails in the field management section. Does anyone have a hint why the emails are still referenced?

This is a long lasting bug. Read this: Just do it! Marketo so-called minor missing features , it is one of the items I listed.
Usually, we just rename the token to "To Be deleted" and let it there until Marketo fixes the bug...

Oh dear. That is quite the list Marketo has to handle then. I see there are a lot of issues regarding custom fields. Renaming the custom field would be great, but since it has those non-existent references, I guess I´ll just leave it at that for now.
